Review of Southern French Dinner

It was really nice - as well as appropriate- for you to have permitted the Bandol to be the star it its course. Sometimes less is more as far as meat and fish main courses are concerned (and of course, as you explained in your variously eloquent newletter, when it comes to Provençal fare in general). The clam soup was really outstanding. But two other courses were revelations: I haven't had such good asparagus in years, and I would never have thought of mint in that context - stunning. And another bit of less-is-more, the strawberry-rhubarb tart, was one of the best desserts we have ever had at The Winds (meaning best period). I know I have written that before, but periodically it is true!
