Wines by the Glass
Naveran 2009 Cava
I adore Cava. There’s just something about all those bubbles that just screams “PARTY”. I don’t mean party like it’s 1999, I mean celebrate, appreciate, give thanks. So, relax, breath and have a glass of Cava.

Clos Normand French Brut Hard Cider
There are few beverages more refreshing than dry hard cider. This version from Normandy is crisp and delicate with lively dry fruit and a lovely bitter finish. Try a Normand Kir also, it’s a lovely drink combining French cider, creme de cassis and a dash Calvados.

LIOCO 2010 Chardonnay Sonoma
Maybe I’m jaded, but it takes an extraordinary wine to get me hyped up about California Chardonnay. Well folks, I can honestly say LIOCO is that wine. This is 100% unoaked Sonoma Chardonnay that’s harvested early to retain a natural acidity. The wine has beautiful lemon peel and tangerine elements along with a deliciously creamy finish.

Anne Amie 2010 Pinot Gris
Anne Amie Pinot Gris is always a favorite of our customers. This Oregon Pinot Gris is a beautiful wine that is stylistically Alsatian in its flavor profile. It has a gorgeous copper color and a creamy, succulent texture. Flavors of ripe pear and sweet lemon peel make my mouth water.

Gianni Gagliardo 2011 Fallegro Roero
Made from Favorita, a Piedmontese variety of Vermentino, Fallegro is extremely crisp and lively with juicy lime zest flavors and floral aromas. The wine has a slight amount of frizzante that always adds to the “fun factor”. Pairs with small plates, especially the Winds Shrimp Cocktail. A very intriguing wine, perfect for summer quaffing.

Gerard Bertrand 2011 Grenache Gris Rosé
The wines of Gerard Bertrand have made quite a splash here at the Winds Cafe. The rose is no different. This little beauty captures the essence of summer relaxation. Infused with perfumed crushed fresh strawberries, followed by zingy lemon zest and piercing minerality. As always, we continue evangelizing the power of pink and will not be satisfied until you are converted.

Titus 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa
Wow, wow, wow. This Bordeaux style blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Petit Verdot, 6% Malbec, 1% Merlot and 1% Cabernet Franc is deliciously hedonistic. Lovely blackberry/blueberry fruit followed by lush cocoa powder and spice aromas. An elegant, pretty wine not super extracted and unbalanced like some wines of this ilk.

Sineann 2007 Pinot Noir
This special cuvee from Sineann is available only in Ohio, thanks to wine wizard, Adam Mahler of ampelography. After our Sineann tasting and dinner, owner/winemaker, Peter Rosbeck, offered to private label his Pinot Noir for the Winds. This Oregon Pinot is a dark, smoky wine with a bad attitude…definitely more Puck than Finn, if you’re a Glee fan…also makes a great gift for Winds fans.
Bottle 29. Quartino 10.75 Glass 7.25
Ciacci Piccolomini 2009 Toscano IGT
Although I always love the high end Brunellos of Ciacci, I think it’s only fair to judge a winery by what they can accomplish with their value priced wines. Primarily Sangiovese, the Toscano is redolent of bright cherry fruit, medium bodied with a lovely herbal finish. This wine delivers an enormous amount of wine drinking pleasure for the price.

Evodia 2010 Garnacha
I love just about any Spanish wine. Where else in the world can you still get the quality of this old vine Garnacha for such an affordable price? NOWHERE! Evodia is 100% Garnacha, grown at the highest altitude in Spain. Juicy flavors of raspberry preserves and a long silky finish. If you like Cotes du Rhone as your house wine, give this a try.
