2006 comes to an end…
Wow! Did that year go fast or what? It seems the summer was just here and now it’s time for the holidays. My
middle son, Samuel, just turned 10, a tremendous milestone in his mind to finally be in the double digits. Emma has
transitioned to public school. Her 7th grade experience is full of new experiences, bonding with a posse of like minded
kids…Harry Potter reading, potato chip eating, math geeks. Santa does not loom large in our household this year.
Thankfully, baby Henry is more interested in playing with the toilet paper roll rather than Playstation and the older
kids have agreed on a larger shared present or a special outing or trip. So at least for now the holidays are under
control…at least for now.
This thing called “farmer fizz”, what’s it mean? It means these Champagnes are made by real families with grapes
full of amazing terroir and distinct styles. The three top Champagne brands account for over 63% of the Champagne
sold in America. The grower Champagnes represent a mere 2.50% of the market, but the good news is that number
has quadrupled since 1997. These are all Champagnes of distinction and, I guarantee, infinitely more interesting and
enjoyable than that factory fizz with the orange label.
